Are IFRS accounting rules required by law?
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$post_date in /var/www/webapp/ui/mlb_faq.php on line 96

There is no law or statute that forces companies to use IFRS. IFRS rules were adopted by the International Accounting Standards Board, which is a self-regulated organization. Although no government directly forces companis to follow IFRS rules, there is an exception for companies whose stocks trade on stock exchanges. These companies have to comply with Securities legislation which requires the use of IFRS.
