    What is the obligation if asbestos is present in commercial properties?

    Pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act,R.S.O. 1990, c.0.1 and Ontario Regulation 278/05, any workplace/ commercial property that has or has had asbestos in it, must have an asbestos management plan which shows where asbestos is or has been removed, room by room. The plan must also provide for annual re-inspections of areas that previously hadasbestos-containing material. Asbestos management programs are outlined in section 8 of the regulation.
