    What principles apply to custody?
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$post_date in /var/www/webapp/ui/mlb_faq.php on line 96

The over-riding principle is the ?best interests of the child.? The courts are concerned with what is best for the child and not what is best for, or most convenient for, the parents. The past conduct of the person requesting custody is not of any significant unless it is relevant to the ability of that person to act as a parent for the child.
