How do I appeal a Small Claims Court decision?

If you filed the original claim (plaintiff) and you lose, you cannot appeal the decision. If a claim is filed against you (defendant) and you lose, you can appeal the decision. In the event of an appeal the entire decision is reconsidered rather than merely the section that is being appealed against and it is therefore essentially a new trial. This will require you to prove your case again from the beginning, including providing any evidence that you want the court to consider. In an appeal case, you have the option of allowing a lawyer to represent you.
